anecdotes *****

Post  Admin on Wed Jul 23, 2008 1:56 pm

A bit of a background story.

When we were filming the "treatment" [as it's called] with the skateboarder kids behind me, which were supposed to look
really fast, while I stayed perfectly still... well the funny thing was that Shelley said "Keep your eyes on my phone" which
was roughly on her hips... I've never had a woman, or anyone for that matter basically say "stare at my hips".

Now freezing, and being as still as possible wasn't that difficult... all I had to do was look in one direction and listen to
the skateboarders ride and talk, and try and hold Katie, who didn't want to stay still.

Some of the kids were saying "What are they filming?"
"It's a porno!" said the other.

Well, it was pretty bloody hard to stifle a laugh, but I barely managed it I think.

Shelley gave me two big thumbs up.

"It's a porno!" said the other.

Perhaps that's understandable; if you Google for "cyber", the first hit is the Wikipedia entry on "Cybersex." (Hence the "I'm Feeling Lucky" button. Laughing)

Googling for "cyberstars" returns: "CyberStars® is an international organization of over 160 top Real Estate professionals who are committed to providing the highest level of service and expertise in the industry, while using hi-tech to provide high touch service."
I don't know what that means, but they'd better keep their "high touch service" to themselves! Shocked

Yeah, I know Nan... I really hope they change the title.

Some of the wording used to describe the internet are over-used and "Cyber" is one of them.
I'm really tired of "Virtual" too... everything in SL is "Virtual" this or "Virtual" that.

I also googled Cyberstars and saw those same things you did, so it would be great to see
a different name used in the end.

Of course, this is the pre-production name, and Shelley has hinted that She might change it
further on, I hope so.

I remember one of the earlier video game consoles was named "Dolphin" before release,
the S-NES maybe... no I think it was one that didn't sell very well, but around that period.
perhaps they should have kept that name Smile

BTW: The skating kids had no idea what we were filming, as far as I know.

Yeah, names do change by region.
Even some rock groups had to do it.

We had Mega-Drive in Australia too...
BTW: I think the Dolphin was the Dreamcast, who made that one?

The Dreamcast was made by Sega; "Dolphin" was a code name for the Nintendo GameCube.

A possible title - "The iLife" - just popped into my head, but that's pretty cliched too. Cadbury has the trademark on "Furry Friends"; I think some overlap is possible where there is no possibility to confuse the two products (chocolate and a film, for example) but something original would be better.

I don't know why it stuck in my head, but we had Furry Friends when I was a kid.... mid 70s.
and a girl I grew up with, who was quite wild inside, thought they were "Fury Friends" and said
it with a certain touch of testosterone in her voice Wink

I corrected her, telling her that it was really "Furry Friends"... I was always a gentle kid and didn't
like the sound of something having a lot of Fury.

Somehow I think she wasn't happy, but the chocolate was still as good as ever.

Me too; I think Cadbury's milk chocolate used to be edible back then. (Could be worse: Easter Egg, or white "chocolate"...)

These days, I go for quality dark chocolate. Lindt have a great range of "Excellence" dark chocolate blocks. Chili is a favourite; Coffee Extreme is also tasty, though it has a somewhat gritty texture of instant/ground coffee. bounce

Chili Chocolate icecream is brilliant; a traditional combination of flavours, but the additional contrast of hot and cold is pretty amazing. I first tried it in Merimbula at an icecream shop near the information centre, but they didn't have it when I was there in May; I settled for Rum 'n' Raisin.

Rawr... I wonder what she would have made of "Neko Friends"? (Tries not to reminisce to avoid melancholy.)
